Louisville with Gas

Post by Kynan on Sun 14 Feb 2010, 6:23 pm

here is a nother one I have on the go, Due to the weather. Its a 74 LT8000 Gas bottle delivery truck. It started with a Ford Loui short hauler that I scored out of a mates shed when he cleaned it out, It was missing the motor, gearbox and cargo box. which suited me as I was planing to put transplanted Cat 3408 turbo motor in to it and it still had the tail lift . The tray is based on the BOC gas delivery truck that runs around town, The gas bottle cages I found the pictures and sizes on the internet but are the same style as the BOC gas truck. The tray and cages are all made out of evergreen. This is going to be built as a every day truck that runs out west about half was to the ISA to towns and Stations. The bull bar is not going to be used but is the style of the one that I will build.
The bad new's is that I need about 150 different sizes and styles of gas bottles to make and cast from the new to the used.

Enjoy

The extra effort for the gas bottles will be worth it - keep posting pics of your progress.

Nice job on the scratchbuilding, and a interesting subject as well,
This may help with the gas bottles, which you could cut and shut to suit whats needed

I think Plastruct also have gas bottle tops as well that may help, 150 bottles in resin is going to be quite a load
