T600A Canepa

Post by Tubman on Mon 16 Aug 2010, 9:46 pm

Got this cheap from a guy on TPB forum. Going to have it finished by this weekend. Painted it for the second time yesterday, colour is Candy Blue over silver base in acrylic lacquer with rattle can acrylic lacquer clear over the top. Will post more pics later.

haven't got to that yet Allan, I sort of went my own way for a couple of reasons, 1. To get the sleeper and roof all smooth I had to join them all together before I put the back in and I couldn't do inside the sleeper till the outside was painted, might be fun trying to get it in, I'll let you know. The second reason is because the instructions are just the worst, I don't usually use them but as this is a bit different to what I normally build thought I'd better, this would have to be, apart from the body, the biggest pile of poo kit ever made, the instructions are vague at the very best, took me hours just to get the motor together, pure luck I think that I have got this far with out smashing it.

Tubman, the chassis and motor in that kit is from the old movin on KW,60's or 70's. AMT just moved the axle back and plonked a modern cab etc on top.
paint jobs tuned out nice.

Should have figured. What a piece of crap but it's still the best looking truck, got 4 more trucks to build so won't let it put me off, got the Australian Kenny, a 104, a T600 and a Peterbuilt, all going to have flash paint jobs, very un trucker like.

Looking good. I built one of these back in the day, brush painted and all, didn't turn out too bad. The Germany Revell truck kits go together pretty well.

Thanks for the comments guys, always appreciated.
Haven't done much since the QMHE but after talking with guys there and showing them a pic of it aaaaaaand thinking a bit more about it I decided it was going to be part of a race team, so it now has white stripes like my SuperBee but I need more clear before I put it back together and take pics, I will also be building a Studebaker Doorslammer as part of the team, then all I need is a trailer Rolling Eyes

Very very nice, well done. Has the front been lowered, the front wheels seem to tuck under the guards a lot?
