Big restoration job you've taken on. Looks like you're off to a good start. I like your idea of an old street toughie. Keep us posted.

Big Fun. I must say this is my 1st car build l,ve touched in 15yrs easy..
The seats looked too boring so one was tilted forward , l have owned afew coupes , and can always remember the seat/s sitting like this.
Steering wheel thought it would look good on the seat.

The body was stripped down , then all the lower panels where dental burred out ,thinned gently gives the rusted out look on the outside , problem l did this too early ,some parts of panel fell off while removing door locks badges ,wippers an drilling out holes for the side mirrors an some dents, now l burr later much later mybad
Then l stared wiring it up , adding detail abit at a time

Sadly l can not find the disc with some of the best pics on it scratch it will come to me ..
You can see in this pic just how easy the panels snapped off .

For its overall color ,Burnt Orange , w/Apollo blue bonnet ,one black door ,Marron boot lid .

One thing l have never like on this kit ..bonnet hinges , well it really hasnt got any just toyish arms ,after this pic was taken l toke some hinges from a Cornet respringed them with wire .

All good ,not that much effort to get the paint back to this state.

Your photos at least are clear and sharp. There's only a yellow colour cast to remove (probably from a normal light globe). This is a really nice rebuild and you've given the model a unique look. I like it!

BTW this is a Photoshop fix of one of your pics.

The software is Adobe Photoshop CS5 and its used for image manipulation. Its not cheap but I need it for my teaching and publishing work. You can download a trial version from Adobe's website, but it only lasts 30 days. http://www.adobe.com/downloads/

Afew pics too show how l do my dirt build up ,1st get some pastel chalk ,turn it into dust.
Then spray the spot with the airbrush ,cover with the dust ,then spray again too blend it .

Re: From Mustang too Stan ..

Hi all , made afew changes nothing really major , some more detail in the interior , adding seat bealts was fun , finding decent pics of them was a mission , I decided to change the color I messed up the Orange , needed a fresh look to it was getting me down , so Electric blue was decided on .
After cleaning up the the body of Orange the whole body was sprayed with many different shades of red brown, orange, brown, black brown ,a lot of orange mixed in all the mentioned colors , then once the rust color set .
I slowly stippled on with a short haired brush a rough rust texture (this has brighter amounts of orange in it ) on areas I wanted with heavy surface rust , toke ages and is just about invisible in these pics, .
Once that was dry and set I clear flat coated it dry time ,then Hair Spray again dry time , then primer dry time followed by blue more dry time lol
Then I just slowly lighly sanded it back using Wet/Dry and Scotchbrite it till I was happy with the result ..
But sadly Stoopid me had the just painted body in my lap while I was adjusting the lid of the airbrush when it popped out of my finger tips , I tipped the airbrush just enough to spill Acetone on the body fuming Oh well walk away I,ll be back , next day I did what I could , it could have been worse , it was in waay because the best rusty bit got washed off
