W.I.P HX Sandman Panelvan

Post by homers customs on Tue 06 Mar 2012, 8:19 pm

Gday all, I have been working on this one lately its been totally stripped inside as the interior looked to bland, I will be decking out the back to look like a proper panel van. I tossed out the 5 litre and replaced it with a small block chev just have to work out the induction side of things, also gone is the original wheels and replaced with dragway 5 spokes and lowered it aswell, will be sticking with the original colour.
Hope you like, any comments welcome.

Cheers Homers Customs.

Dont know yet to many desicions to make between a blower, tunnel ram, twin turbos, 4 weber carbs or just a single carb through the bonnet.

Looks awesome Homer. I like the wheels.

Carby through the bonnet would be my preference, keeping with a streeter theme. The original paintwork and stripes are a nice combo too.

Tunnel ram with an old style Hilborn trout mouth scoop would look sweet. Can't put a WB front on her without WB tail lights to match!!!
Sandmans didn't have much in the line of interiors from factory in the back just a full length hood lining. Sad
She looks awesome so far looking forward to seeing more.

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crying or Very sad

Keep it old school, you cant run an LS motor and 5 spokes, if you run an LS you'll have to gay it right up with some craptacular looking blingy pizza tray wheels which will suck to no end and be a total waste of a van.
Build it as God intended......................old school and cool!!!!! cheers

Cheers Rob

Hmm, got me thinking now, what about a more standard van, permier front end, mags and murals - Max's van of the original Mad Max ??

I recon you'd get away with late type motor with those wheels 'cause they're big diameter - new interperetation of the old wheel style.

But with the LS engines i have mate dont mean they have to be fuel injected, I can still run a tunnel ram or whatever i want.

You can still have an LS motor with carbs. It would go with the non oldschool wheels too. I'd be kinda old modern.

yeah it just doesn't look right to me to have the sump in the front on a chevy, but that's how they are. Otherwise out of habit I would have put them the other way, hehe.

Getting the latest Biante metallic blue HX Panel Van , and like yours will modify and build as old school version. Like f/glass front corvette bonnet scoop, wide mags and a mural or two , and not to forget the Sidepipes.

Ha! Ha! I asked for that , didn't I ????? You just know me too well Rob ! XX308 I dunno?? Painting it the right colour, flaring guards ,sunroof , side bubble windows and finding those wheels and tyres in model scale may present a bit of a problem, let alone replicating the interior?????
