TRAX S Series Valiant

Post by 70cudatj on Fri 20 Apr 2012, 3:49 pm

This is the first and only modified diecast I've done and it's really only a mild rework.
It's a TRAX 1/43rd 'S' Series Valiant.
I sacrificed a Hot Wheels G Machines '70 Cuda to use the interior tub and the wheels (yeah I know I cut up a Cuda...shame on me Sad ).
I was going to repaint this one something punchier but there are very fine stenciled details on the boot lid and on the side trims that I'm sure I couldn't replicate easily, so she stayed in the original colour.
Not much of a rebuild but it's my first ..... go easy on me.
Cheers Tim

Nice work! Interesting matching of time periods but the end result is sweet. Not bad at all for your first mod - well done Tim.

Wheels are a tad too big, but still doesn't look to bad, nice job on something that small. .
Cut up a CUDA, sometimes acceptable but at least you didn't cut up the valiant!! Exclamation

not too bad. looks like trax did a reasonable job on the s-series. was the cuda chassis the right wheelbase or didn't you use it?

No I kept the TRAX Valiant chassis but used the Cuda wheels and axles plus the tub, seats and steering wheel. And I added aluminium exhaust tips. too.
