Wreckscue mission

Post by Adam Clark on Sat 24 Nov 2012, 1:09 pm

Hey there everyone,
I've decided I'd play along in this Wreck-scue idea, so I pulled a well over due model off the shelf and thought I'd play around with it. The doors are shit to stay closed, sits too high etc.
Interior will much stay the same, but the stance and Paint needs a lot of work.
I got a note from Cliffo saying one set of wheels Had to be put on a Mopar so since I'm doing a mopar, why not.

Not quite sure on paint whether I do a nice subtle paint or something with graphics and detail, so I'm open for ideas. Smile
Before

And now after I have played with the height, This is how it is sitting, still some light underneath, and the wheels I recieved from Cliffo

Keep you posted. Very Happy

Section the body so the wheels are taller than the front wings?
I think this could look really nasty with a black on black or really dark metallic grey on black paint job & tinted or mirror windows.

Wow, I only asked for a paint Idea guys. rolf Now I'm getting these ideas that I'm considering, ( Dangerous playing field here Razz )
My interior and base colour is a deep sinister red/burgundy and the windows came as a smokey tint Zen,

I like that Kranze, I like that a lot, but I'm not sure my talent is at that level yet. but who knows? Smile

Good subject Adam, I'll be keeping an eye on this Very Happy
Are you planning on painting the wheel centres too? I guess it depends on paint.
Like the two door idea too Very Happy It would take some pretty serious cut and paste, but it would look awesome Cool

I won't paint the Wheels themselves, but There are some little spokes that aren't visible in the pictures but will probably get a body colour.

Well, I've started the two door idea, and I'm too far into it to turn back now. Will see how we go at it. Smile

Kranze, you have inspired me to do the two door idea, I've already started with the scratching of the door line, This is scratched out to about 1.5 mill deep, just pen in the gap to show you guys a bit better.

1st shot is where I am at, 2nd shot is where its (hopefully) going. Razz

I'm going to take the easier way out on this by gluing the doors shut as they never stayed shut properly and I will have to change all the door panels and interior to fit, and quite frankly I'm not that skillful yet.
Lemme' know what you think. Smile

I'll let you know what I think-
niceone Very Happy

That looks right to me, some more cutting and filling and you'll have yourself a charger, how it should have been, stock Very Happy

I wouldn't worry about opening the doors, looks kool just like that IMO Cool (frankly I don't think the world is ready for quite that much awesomeness Razz )

Just a brief update on this one mate, Have got the body looking pretty "right" Just some fine tuning and smoothing up around the door panels.
I have managed to cut the Windows to size without a drama. Basically just a small update but still progress. Smile

Just a mock up, nothing is set in stone yet and the windows aren't in properly.

Looking good Adam, well done.

Are you going fill/putty/bog the top door lines ??
Also personally and if its possible I think it would look better with no side windows.

I was thinking of filling the top door lines, But wasn't too sure on it. Now that someone else has put the idea out there, I decided to go through with it.
Dunno about the windows though will have to think that one through a little.

Have done a few detailing parts to this, I have Wired up and BMF'd parts of the engine bay, painted the brakes, Created some larger Exhaust for out the back because the smaller ones didn't cut it. Twisted Evil
And took to the wheels with a tooth pick and nail polish to add a bit more character to them.
