What I saw on Whidbey Island while visiting my brother....
I was staying with my brother who is a motorcycle and car guy, especially Minis. He took me to meet a few people and see a few sheds...plus we stumbled across some others. So here are pictures of what I saw on Whidbey Island.
Let's start with this one...

Then there was this one...nicknamed the H-bomb...

How about a MG J2?

Or one of these just sitting out in the paddock with a carcover over it...and yes...it is just what you think it is.

Then there was this...Porsche 356 Coupe

...he cut it apart to store the body panels undercover in the barn. Makes perfect sense.
Here is a TR6 and a Lotus Elan +2

...and the 356 body panels are those white things at the back wall of the picture.
Maybe a TR3 is more to your liking...

Then again you may prefer a Lotus 23 Formula car...or what's left of it...

A Devin sports car...powered by a Porsche Boxer engine...

...oh there was also an Edsel Corsair for sale...$4500...if you were interested.

...and then this little beauty...

Also a Triumph Spitfire...

...and a Datsun.

...a few diorama ideas there.
Let's start with this one...

Wow. A Spitfire with what appears to be a rust free body. That's a one of a kind...

Actually there were 2 with rustfree bodies. If you look closely in the background of the Devin sports car...the photo that has the guy wearing the hat...you will see another Spitfire behind him. It was too buried under stuff for me to get any sort of photo.
As to where is Whidbey Island...it is located in Puget Sound in the state of Washington on the west coast of the US. Just a little north and west of Seattle.

Odd they've survived up there as it's not a dry climate like California and there's going to be plenty of salt in the air from the sea.
In the UK the salt from the winter roads collects in the inner lips of the wheel arches and dissolves them.
Mate of mine had a 1500 as a student which had the frayed bodywork, no boot floor and a leaky roof. I used to travel in the back crammed into the space behind the seats (in a puddle).
Last I heard of it he had it stripped down to the frame with a recon GT6 engine in it and was slowly putting it back together. That was 2 daughters and a redundancy ago now and he pointedly ignores my questions about it so I suspect it might be gone now.
I was thinking recently how well one would go with a Skyline motor...

Zen...corrosion is not a big problem up in Washington. Can't explain it, but my brother assured me it is not an issue there either...similar to California.

Odd. Maybe the rain washes off all the salt...
