I'd never have thought of doing that to the door handles.  Must have a go...

Steady as she goes captain.........patience and a steady hand are needed to do it. Start with a very fine drill and make a series of holes, then with a fresh #11 blade gently carve out the rest. I reinforced it after with a drop of super glue to give it some strength.
I'm still debating whether to shave them off, do the paint and polish thing and then make new ones to stick on after...........

Well I've actually got some stuff done on this one and with a big boost from Allan and his generosity (thanks heaps mate), he sorted me out with a '67 chassis so that's saved me weeks of work, (I was going to detail the curbside '63 chassis puke).

Anyway it's sitting on it's wheels sort of.....been working on fitting the Revell Parts Pack Small Block Chev with Hilborn injection. I made the trumpets myself, used ThePartsBox injection manifold and plumbed it a bit. I also cast the fuel cap cover/emblem so I can shave it off the body, paint and polish the body and then stick the Alclad'd cover back on.

That's it for now ........TJ

Air intake trumpets look great. have just got a similar type of thing from a electronics supply shop at Smithfield.
They're longer than the ones in the pic so can to be shortened to the length needed. I got a couple of sizes, 1.8mm and 2mm across the top flair, they're available in bags of 100 but at $5 a bag for the smaller sizes they're not overly expensive. They also come in a polished chrome like finish, in the trade they're known as uninsulated bootlace ferrules.

Just a couple of quick pics to prove I am still working on this one.......
Managed to buy a copy of the '63 Rod & Custom mag that this car appears in and that's given me a boost to get on with the interior.
Now this is a build based on the pictured Tony Rivera car, not an exact copy, as I really like the split rear window and I didn't want to spend $$$ on getting "correct" wheels, so this is my version.....lets say a "homage" to it....
The pleating is driving me nuts though, but should look good with blue piping when done.
That's where it's at for now, still pleating away on it...

Pleaty.

The original is a '63 converted to an unsplit rear window before Chevrolet did it with the '64 isn't it?
I've always preferred the split look but I understand it's a pig for rear vision.

Yep spot on Zen, the "thing" to do in '63 was de-split them due to terrible rear vision and I guess Chev bosses worked it out for '64.
Yep I prefer the split too hence I'm leaving it in, unlike Tony Rivera's.

Still pleating Shocked..........

 Thanks Allan,
The holes are where I cut the seats out, they were molded into the tub. I just couldn't have done all the trim work with them in place...

Here's last nights efforts; still got to detail the dash etc.....

and the engine mocked up......

That's it for now.
