Thanks for you in put scummy,  as soon as I put paint on I bring it inside so no dust gets on it,have talked to a few auto painters and the say that its mostly the gas in the rattle can and old stock, As one does not know how old the rattle cans are, I am not going to let it beat me its just going to take a bit long to build Smile got cars two that I am work on, Silverfox always ask how are they going. Have to get them done so he will stop nagging Laughing

Allan you're your worst critic mate. Don't be so hard on yourself, not all paint jobs come out perfect.
To me it looks like the bumps are under the paint and not in the paint. Which means it's something to do with your prep stage. After you've sand back the primer, have you ever tried giving it a scrub with toothpaste and a toothbrush under water? I do it all the time, toothpaste is a very fine abrasive compound that does a great job at removing any little particles sitting on the surface. Just remember to rinse it off with fresh water and then I use a hair dryer to dry the body.

Clutch never heard of using toothpaste before will give it a try, this time before I used the rattle can I layed it on its side in the sun for 20 mins by before spraying colour on the cab also I put on four very light coats on cab, This time I held the can a bit more away from the cab, last time would of been 4" away this time about 6", going to give cab a light sand with 2000 W/D, before I put another coat of colour on it, Very Happy still going to add the metallic blue on cab too. One thing about this forum one always learn so thing new. Thank you for you help Clutch. A+

The secret is...

...satin clear. It hides a multitude of sins and you can claim you meant to do it all along.

Looks good Allan. The silver certainly lifted it. Are the flares along the bottom part of the cab sheet metal or a rubber flare?

Sorry Allan didn't mean to make more work for you. Painting the flares will add extra detail to the cab ( if that's any help lol). I have one of these in my stash somewhere and am watching this with interest. Sheet metal like Rob said would have made it too easy.
