1930 Ford sport coupe hotrod

Post by frank on Sat 30 Nov 2013, 2:24 pm

I have made a start on the resin 30 sport coupe hot rod

I have had to reinforce the tops and backs of the doors as they very fragile and prone to break, I should have done this when I did the master.

Not a good photo, but I have put the roll pan on the back.

This is the rod I am modeling In it's heyday. Pic taken at Riverside Dragway in 1960

This it today, the bloke that owns it now is going to restore it (one day)

It's cool to see that last photo, it's one thing to see period pics of a car, but barn photos of the very same car in colour are even better.
Any idea of the running gear set up?

It will have a 48 ford flat head, stick shift early Ford gear box and stock early Ford diff.
The original car had a  hot s/v, 39 gear box and a 32 rear end.

A bit more done on the sport coupe. all the body parts painted ready for assembly. Will be a bit of a slow down while I source a 40/48 ford side valve motor.
