Fujimi Jiotto Caspita

Post by LordZycon on Tue 04 Mar 2014, 7:50 pm

Well, hereís another one in progress. Itís an old Fujimi kit of the Jiotto Caspita that I dug out of the garage over the weekend. It was basecoated years ago so it is not perfect in some spots. Just cleared and polished it over the last few days.

The Caspita was touted as the ĎF1 car for the roadí and was designed and built by a Japanese company called Dome for Jiotto. This was in 1988!!

It originally ran a Subaru flat 12 but later, this was replaced with a Judd V10.

Anyhoo, I also threw the suspension together for the mock up (still needs to be painted though). Still a lot to do but hopefully have it done in the next couple of weeks. I also have uni assignments due so forgive me if itís not.

As always, let me know what you think, I always appreciate the feedback.
Josh. Smile

Looks very much like a big old Jaguar kit i had years ago, (i hope it wasn't one of these, coz i cut it up for parts).
Will look good when finished mate, but i think it needs some racier wheels IMO.
Good luck with the assignments too mate.!††bigthumbsup

Thanks for the comments guys.
Dale, they pop up on eBay every now and then. I'm not a huge fan of the wheels either but want to build it as the original show car.
Ben, it has a fairly basic representation of the Subie engine that you can see through the rear window. Would be great to see one I real life though. Smile

Some progress on the Caspita.

Body is finished. Decals were old and so a little hard to work with but came out okay.

Also got the engine done. Itís just once piece that slots onto the back out the interior tub but it will be visible through the rear window once complete. First crack at plumbing an engine and Iím pretty happy with the result. Smile

As always, please let me know what you think. Smile
Iím hopefully off to buy some more paint tomorrow so will try and have it done by next week. Will see how I go.

Hi guys,
A little more progress for you. Started on the interior yesterday and got the red done. Will hopefully have the black finished by this arvo.
Also got the wheels painted. Went to the LHS to get paint and didnít realise that Tamiya did a titanium gold spray now. Just the colour I was looking forÖ
Hopefully have shots of the finished interior by tonight.
