Kawasaki ZZR 1100/ZX11 Ninja

Post by checkmate on Mon 12 Jan 2015, 2:29 pm

Hey guys I've searched for ages but haven't been able to find anything, does anyone know if anyone ever made a ZZ/R1100 (or ZX11 Ninja as it was called in the USA) as a model kit?
I thought surely Tamiya or someone would've made one of these as a kit considering it's history.

Here's my '95 model ZZ/R1100D.

Cheers Rob

Geez mate, the silence on this is almost deafening. Looks like you'll have to kit bash something to within an inch of it's life for this project. Pretty similar to your riding style actually.... lol!

Hey mate, i know what your talking about there appears to be No models of the ZZR1100 (ZX11) at all. i have looked as well as i own a "93"D1 ZZR1100
The  ZZR1100's were the fastest production bikes in the world for six years running and only got knocked off by the Honda Blackbird  2009
(i still sneak it into the 300 + kph range every now and then) ...if your not riding on the edge your taking up too much room!!

Personally I feel that as I pay more rego for my bike than I do for my car then I should take up as much room as possible.Very Happy

Easiest solution for both of you is to sell your bikes and buy one that there is a kit of.
Tamiya do a ZZR1400...

Yeah but it's not the same............. the 1400 isn't a legend like the mighty 1100. Very Happy

Bahahaha rolf  rolf  i have more chance of selling the wife and then getting "a model i like" Twisted Evil than ever selling the bike!! ...pity a 1/6th scale of my ZZR1100 would be cool

Nice. Smile

I was going to make mine a ZX11. I had to get a new tank and thought I'd change a few things around. Wink

Very nice ride.

I know it has nothing to do with the original topic here, and of course

Originally bought off young guy using it as a bit of a "farm hack".
I brought brought her home, stripped her almost to the bone & began about 11
months work. A big day for me when I finally wheeled the XJ 750 out of the shed.
Engine thankfully was "sweet as" and did not require rebuilding which saved me time &
money. Very Happy   Thanks for letting me show her off.

"Nice Job Jerry" you got to be happy with the results, i like the colour and pin striping as well.

This was after a low, high side , back slide lol... "all cosmetic damage" had to learn how to plastic weld to put humptey dumptey back together again as seen in pic above
