Ford TT Truck

Post by Antwon on Sat 01 Aug 2015, 12:28 pm

Hey Guys,
This is yet another one I've recently completed.
It started life as one of the AMT 1925 '3 in 1' kits, which I decided to convert to a TT Truck for my 'T Model' collection.
A bit of work to get it like this, stretched frame & drive shaft, tray was sectioned & lengthened & stake sides added, rear guards were cut from original sedan piece and narrowed, used styrene half round to redo the accent lines. The cowl was actually made from.....get this...........Huon Pine shaped with a Dremel and files.
The cab is entirely scratch built from styrene stock, bench seat is two small strips of balsa wood and the running boards are originals shortened.
These kits are a bit of work to build, the moulds are quite worn and every one I have bought has slightly misaligned wheel spokes, they take heaps to clean up.
The rear wheels are made from T model spokes grafted into Monogram 30 A model rims and tyres to replicate the Balloon style rears they had from factory for greater load capacity.
I'm not sure this is 100% dimensionally accurate but I did my best to replicate a TT based on pictures viewed online.

Thanks for looking

I only have one question, "Where the heck do you park all these old cars, that shed doesn't look that big" ... "What? They're models?"  twothumbsup
Looks cool bro, those wood working skills have come in handy even in the styrene hobby eh?

That's a fantastic effort. I really dig early trucks especially scratch built ones !
