Hi guys,

After sitting down in the hobby room over the weekend I managed to get a bit done on my trailers. I have finished sanding the pieces up and ready to put them together.

First I added some trimming to the top of the trailers so I was able to get correct heights.

I then taped the trailer together to make sure that it fit together nicely. I also checked measurements for what seems like the millionth time. I seem to be getting the hang of this now 😂.

I started with the B trailer and now have it all glued together. I have the A trailer almost ready. I still need to cut out the front and read end pieces.

Hi guys,

Been a while since my last post but I have been slowly working along. I have glued my boxes together and started on the axle group for both trailers. I have the bottom of the A trailer all glued in, but I had to wait until I had finished the axle group for the B trailer before I can glue the bottom in on the B trailer. Which now will be my next task.

First up I had the fun job of cleaning up all the resin parts and then washing them before I could do anything else. Then I was finally able to start putting them together.

When I had done this I was able to start measuring up for the chasis and start building that. I haven't added much detail here as it won't be seen on the completed truck.

I brought the truck out to set it up with the trailers to check heights etc and couldn't resist taking some photos.

Hi Guys,

Another update.

I have been working hard to try and transfer the sizes for the decals from photos I have to the trailer. I think I have finally sorted out the sizes as close as possible.  This is a draft of what it is going to look like.

I have drawn up and marked out the lines for the doors on my trailers. Again making the measurements from photos. Which was no easy task. I'm lucky that dad is good at maths, thanks for helping as I had no idea. Question

After marking out the doors, I started my first coat of primer which was exciting. I even remembered to prime all the other pieces I needed painted.

I was then able to look at the marks that I had made for the doors and check that these looked right. I have had to make a few fixes and fill in a couple of gaps, but I'm happy with my progress so far. It is all slowly coming together.

I am now working on making the aircon units for the fronts of the trailers. I will then be able to start putting the colour on.

Hi guys,

After priming my trailers I began to add some more detail. I worked on making the air con units for the fronts of the trailers. This was easier said than done. I ended up doing some "uhem" adjustments to the bottom of the trailer as I was attaching the air con unit to the front. (I may or may not have been a little rough, but it all worked out as I was able to add some reinforcements. It took glue, tape, clamps, hands, a bit of putty and time to get it to stick, but I got there.

I then added some more trimmings to the trailers before giving them another prime. They are now ready to add some colour. I added some trimmings to the A trailer doors, cut in some boxes for light fittings 1 for the A trailer and 2 for the B trailer and a box for the number plate on the B trailer. I also added some detail along the tops of the trailers and latches to the lockers.

Hi Guys,

I'm so excited to be able to say that I have been able to start to add the colour to my trailers. A wet weekend was a great excuse to go out into the shed and do some painting with dad.

I began by masking out my trailers which felt like I was wrapping a present... except there was way too much tape involved.

I was then able to add the white to the trailers. Once this has finished drying I will be back to masking out for the strip of blue that runs along the bottom of the white.

I also painted the rims for my wheels.

I have also begun doing some sub assemblies. I have made up some of the light sets, and have a big collection of lights ready to go for the sides of the trailers. I also made up the checker plate for the lockers at the fronts of the trailers. I cut in the doors and added latches to them.

Update: I have just finished masking out for the small blue strip, ready for painting tomorrow. I am usually one for not using much tape... By the end of this I don't think we will have any tape left over... I may or may not have gone overboard with the taping.

Hi guys,

I have finally finished the paintwork to my trailers. I began with the white then I added the blue stripe and finally the black.

I was so excited to pull all the wrapping off and seeing the final product.

Once the paint was done I was able to begin on the detailing. I was able to start putting the decals on. I also put the lights on, attached air hoses and grill for the aircon units, attached the wheels, door handles, checkerplate/lockers and turn table.

I then set it up with the truck to see the completed project. I am really pleased with how it has turned out. I have really enjoyed making this model. Thanks to everyone that has helped (especially dad) and to all the kind comments. I hope you have enjoyed following my progress.
