VW-rod, police edition by Chromecop

Post by chromecop on Tue 08 Dec 2015, 4:06 am

A couple of years ago I started collecting parts for a very special VW-rod. This week I finally started the actual build. Front is from a Gunze 1956 bug, middle section from a Revell convertible and rear part from an early issue VW-bus. The wheels are from a VW Kubelwagen.

I'm back in business w this one now. Lotsa work as I'm only using spare/scrap parts for the entire build. Right now restoring a front axle using parts from 2 different VW's.

Roof and mid-section as well as rear hatch had to be glued 'cause they'd broken into several pieces:

I've put this build on hold as I'm building a Ford Thames Van right now instead.

This build has been put on hold for a while due to a more challenging VAN-build......

Testfitting the roof before shortening it:

Will remove 48 mm (almost 2") in length later on.
