50' Olds *FOILED*

Post by DeeCee on Fri 08 Jan 2016, 4:52 pm

I have a couple of these, so it's about time i built one.
The plan is to get it closer to mother earth, and a fancy purple paint job.

Cheers guys, got the engine done, and some painting on the roof too.

Start with a basic white roof.

A bit of free hand colors, then mask, more color, more mask.... and repeat about 10 times..

Gloss coat pics tonight. Smile

The roof looks sweet.. what masking tape did you use? did you cut it yourself or is it bought that thin?

Thanks very much guys, she's nearly done.
Morrie, i use NITTO yellow long life tape, good for 60 days, which means it comes off cleanly, and very thin, can almost see through it.
I also lay a piece on some glass, then cut it down to the width i want with a sharp scalpel and metal ruler, it works well, and goes around corners well too..

Cheers all, THANKS. Smile

I got into final assembly tonight, and after a fair bit of lowering, this kit still sits high with the original wheels/tyres,
so, plan "B",  change those wheels, i went with some pegasus DZ's, she sits perfect now...  Cool

Here is a teaser, final pics tomorrow night guys....
