MOPAR Racing Team

Post by DeeCee on Sun 17 Jan 2016, 9:07 pm

I have been wanting to do this build for a long time, i got the trailer about 15 years ago, and knew what i wanted to do with it, then a few years ago i purchased a couple of MOPAR Dragsters,
just needed something to tow it all with. Not wanting a truck, i picked up the Escalade kit, and then a couple of 300c kits at a good price with out wheels.
The plan has come together.....

My plan is to make room in the trailer for the Dragster, it needs extending a bit, and raised at the rear to fit the rear wing inside.
Next, as it is a Mopar crew, i will try and graft the 300C front onto the Escalade.  ( good luck with that i think)......
I might try to incorporate a few more of the 300c bits onto it somehow...

This will be a long term build, so keep an eye out for updates if your interested..  Smile

Thanks for the interest guys, here is a little update:..
I needed to make room for the wing of the dragster to fit in the trailer, so instead of just lifting the rear of the roof,
i have gone with the roof off a 1/32 Kenworth.
The idea :

So a bit of cutting and some styrene to try blend it in.

And while this is drying, i decided to take to the tow vehicles with the scalpel
Remove the 300C front end

And remove the Escalade front end

Now , to see if it will go back together....

Agree! Great start.
Particularly like your idea of blending the 1/32 scale aero top into the trailer.

Thanks Geoff , and cheers Tim, here is your answer, available at any good bottle shop. Smile

Now back to business, the front end was not low enough or agressive enough,
so i have grafted the front spoiler from an old nascar, just to fill that air gap.. Smile

This is coming along very nice. Just wondering if you will be re skinning the door panels and rear wheel arch with the 300c to get rid of the kits origins.

Thanks for following guys,  Tim, Boags is made about 3km from my house, and now so is my TEDS.  Smile
As for those craft beers, i don't trust the hippy guy behind the recipe.....   Razz
Steve, i thought about it, but what a lot of work, so i have taken some of the edges off the Escalade body trim, and done a bit of filling
to try disguise its origins. Have also blended in the Chrysler scuttle panel.

After seeing these pics, i need a bit more work on the rear guard blend, and think i need a body trim line to take away from the slab sides. ???? Question Question Question

Looking heaps better with what you've done on the sides now looks more Chrysler based. Just a suggestion you could use the same panel trim work as the 300c to try and tie it together. Are you using the 300c interior with the build?

Thanks for the interest guys, this is going to be a long haul though.
Steve, i think i am going to add a body mould line, like the 300C, but as for interior, the escalade is all fancy like the Chrysler one,
so will run with that i think, BUT, that 300C interior might work in well with one of the few 67 Foose Chargers i have, modernize it a bit...

Got the rear doors sorted out on the trailer, the hinge took a bit of getting right though.
