Simple Carpark

Post by Morrie on Thu 31 Mar 2016, 8:40 pm

Hi i got a bit bored waiting for the primer to settle on 2 builds I'm trying to finish so i thought i would make somewhere to store my excess built models, i was loading up my other dio's with them, but moved the dio's to display them better and only have  couple of cars on each one, also didn't want my kits buried away in boxes, this way i can get inspired when i see built kits to make some more Very Happy

Anyway this is just a board painted with texture and finished to look like a carpark, the rear fence will be finished with corrugated iron, just didn't have the foil to build that yet, might put a couple of signs on the fence but not going to crazy with this one. will more than likely use this for photo shoots too. I seen someone turn a book shelf into a multi level carpark, i plan to do something like that next to store even more finished kits.

its actually already full with twice as many cars on it than the pictures and I still have another stack still needing a home so the multi level will have to be built sooner than later..

neato burrito Morrie, looks sweet. Love the couple sets of "power lines" in there too. I reckon it needs a big single pegger through there too.

Yeah great idea, I like the multi level park made with shelving too scratch
And I love the rubber too .... authentic touch, just don't forget the oil stains in each parking bay ... yes old cars do leak ... don't ask me how I know?

Thanks for the input fellas, I have some foil to make the fence iron now, I have a hot rod to finish assembling, then going to do the fence and some more weathering. Even some more burnout marks as requested Smile

I still haven't worked out how to do realistic oil stains yet but will give it another go on this one.

Yes I'm keeping an eye out for the perfect secondhand bookshelf for my multi story carpark, no luck yet but hopefully soon.

Got this one almost finished, think I might just make up some no parking signs and then its done.

I used it for some photo's of my roadrunner so I thought I would set up a mini muscle car show to get some photo's with the fence etc. finished, it does make an awesome stage for doing photo's and pretty easy to build.

That first shot is as good as it gets, very realistic with natural lighting, the trees in the background and the shiny new parked there  bigthumbsup bigthumbsup bigthumbsup

Just need some "Tow Away" signs, and a tow truck hooking on to one of them.
