Crusty SS Chevelle

Post by Morrie on Mon 01 May 2017, 5:56 pm

Haven't bad anywhere to build for a few months but I'm set up again and decided on a quick one to get my back into it, built this over the weekend, its the Revell Donkys kit, pretty much out of the box with different rims and lowered.

Another superbly rusted up neighborhood car mate, you sure have that effect down pat.
That looks real, and you can see where the fat chick has been sitting , or doing something on the boot.    Rolling Eyes   Razz   Laughing

Good to see you back at too mate.

looks tuff as all hell Morrie. Love the weathering. What was it you were using for the surface rust effect?

Hey Retro.

The roof etc, is Lifecolor Rust acrylics with the salt effect, there are 4 colours you airbrush on before you do the salt for the top colour.

The bottom of the guards is Haymes Real Iron Paint with Haymes Oxidizing Patina over it to rust the base, I goes full rusty after a longer time.

I could send you a pic on facebook of the bottles if you want to give it a try.
