Haven't been able to get much bench time recently but have been moving along slowly

A combination of spares and scratch built to make a lazy axle. As it's under the body it should be fine. Made up a subframe for the tow body to sit on to lift it a touch higher than the 1 that came with the body.

.
The pink section to the left of the tank bracket is a 30mm piece I had to add so that I could fit the tanks on and get the aircleaners and exhausts between the cab and body.

I replaced the kit front axle with 2 white metal ones from KFS mainly for a uniform look. Scratch built some steering linkages and put the battery boxes between the front axles, mainly cause there was no where else to put them. The aircleaner barrels will be fixed into place once I make up some new cab mounts - the old ones are busted.

So this is it all sat together to get an idea of how it was shaping up.

I'm using some of the Auslowe upgrade sets on this build. The headlight and quarter panels are 1. This gives individual headlight buckets. Also using the cab mounts and aircleaner sets. It's taking a bit of sorting out with the stretched cab  but would be pretty easy on a standard cab I'd think.

A few more bits and pieces have gone on.

The Auslowe stuff went together pretty well, just need to remember to increase the length of the pipes on the back of the cab if you raise the cab after putting the flares on. Nearly time to reprime it and see how it looks.

Chassis has been painted and other parts primed. Chrome paint on rims wasn't what I'd hoped for so will have to redo them - plenty to redo Crying or Very sad Have been getting some paint & polishing tips from Dee Cee so the cab has gone back onto the work bench for some more prep work. I'll add some pics soon.

Base colour on .

Masked out. Based on Kenworth's factory scheme - Potomac.I changed the front a little and will only use 2 colours where the diagrams for it show 3.

Chassis is pretty much done except for mudflaps and the like. Still working on the wrecker body, changing taillights as I didn't get the kit ones. Pinstriping on the cab next and then extend the interior tub to fit.

Thanks Al. Been working on the tow body and towing gear.

The kit taillights didn't come with the kit so I decided to come up with something else.

I cut out the recesses, blanked them off and made the new housings. I also sanded the chequer plate detail off the angled edges of the body for a neater look.

Had to change the bracing underneath to get it to sit at the height I wanted.

Started putting the pinstripes on, waiting for the door decals to turn up.
